I developed this program together with the NASA Goddard Visitor Center. Our goal was to create a structured program for families with young kids that would attract more visitors to the museum.
Activities were fun, short, easy to do experiments that allowed families to learn through play on a variety of themes. The program was run by trained high school volunteers. We were trying to create a sort of pipeline. The hope was to attract families at an early age and excite them about STEM themes. Once the kids were old enough, we encouraged families to attend the NASA Family Science Night. Once the kids reached high school age, we encouraged them to volunteer for this Sunday Experiment program.
